I’m a bright, happy guy filled with curiosity, kindness, and a whole lot of desire to please. Here are a few fun facts about me:
Toy Collector & Solo Entertainer: I love carrying my favorite toys around everywhere and am great at keeping myself busy.
Social Butterfly: I love belly rubs, playing tug with my canine sister, and I get along great with the senior resident dog and cat in my foster home (even if the cat prefers her space!).
Park Enthusiast: Daily park walks and sniffing out every single good smell? Count me in! 🌲
Smart Cookie: I’m house-trained, kennel-trained (I sleep like a champ through the night!), and I already know sit, down, and leave it.
I’m full of playful energy and love meeting new friends! When we first meet, I get so excited that I like to jump up to say hello, though I’m always gentle. Because I'm still working on my manners and jump when I'm excited, I’d do best in a home without small children. A fenced-in yard for my legendary puppy zoomies would be a dream come true! 🐶💨
I’m working hard on my basic obedience, confidence when staying home alone, and calming my bark when neighborhood strangers walk by. With a little patience, a kind voice, and positive reinforcement, you’ll unlock all of my silly, affectionate personality!

Woof! My name is Kootenay—but my foster mom calls me Koot, and my foster dad calls me Crash Van Koot! Honestly, I’ll answer to almost anything because I just want to be near you! I am a big boy, and I love in HUGE ways. I want to be on the couch with you, in bed with you, and everywhere you go! I’m a silly guy who gives the absolute best kisses, and I am so ready for my forever home.
Here’s a little more about me:
Dog Friendly: I LOVE other dogs and definitely need a doggy friend in my new home. Play, chase, wrestle—count me in!
Pool Party Enthusiast: I just discovered water and I am obsessed! My foster parents put out a doggy pool and I jumped right in to chill out.
House Manners: Fully potty trained! Plus, when my foster family leaves, I get free roam of the house and don't chew or destroy anything.
People Person: I do great meeting new people and love older, respectful kids!
Car Rides: I'm still mastering how to get in and out of the car, but once we're rolling, I’m a great copilot.
Home Preferences: No cats for me, please! Also, due to past trauma, I really dislike being kenneled (though I’ll happily pop in to eat my food).
I love toys, dog bones, and treats, but most of all, I just want to meet YOU! 🐾❤️
